Game Summary

The Sims 2 Seasons is the fifth Expansion Pack of The Sims 2 series. This EP includes many new, unique features such as Weather, Fishing and Gardening sims. The Sims 2 Seasons is played in the same way as the previous EPs, with the exception of the "stay-at-home" orientation. The activities of this game are geared to keep your Sims on their home lot, gardening, fishing and enjoying the new weather.

New Features

Seasons
In the Seasons expansion pack, the endless summer is finally broken and your Sims are given the chance to experience Spring, Autumn and Winter as well. Each season has new things for your Sims to experience, including snowman building in Winter and leaf raking in Autumn and fishing with your kids in Spring.
Weather
Your Sims can now experience all-new types of weather. This includes rain, thunderstorms, hail, snow and more for your sim to enjoy.
Weather Reports
Reading the newspaper and watching the new "Weather Channel" are both ways for your Sims to stay on top of the current and upcoming conditions. The predictions may not be 100% accurate but they're as close as you can get.
New Aspiration Reward - Weathernaught 57X
This device is a new Aspiration reward for your Sims. Like you may have guessed, it allows your Sim to control and change the weather to be what they please. Make sure their current Aspiration level is Gold or higher, or the device could backfire!
Leaf Piles
The trees in your Sims' yards now drop leaves! Make sure you rake up the piles, as they lower the room score.
Corresponding Hairstyles
You can now choose the hairstyles that go with a certain type of outfit. You set them on the third panel in Create-A-Sim.
New Deaths
Your Sims can now die in a few different ways! This includes freezing to death, overheating, and being struck by lightning. But still don't try to kill your sims.
Gardening
Your Sims can now have gardens where they grow fruit and vegetables. There's also a chance that they could become part of the elusive Garden Club and obtain a special prize if there gardens are very nice.
Fishing
If your Sims happen to have a pond in their yard, they can pull out a fishing rod and cast away. This enjoyable activity is now available to your Sims.
Stackable Inventory
Your Sims' inventories just got a whole lot easier to use! You can now stack up the same items in one spot rather than having a number of the same items lined up.
Leftovers
Do your Sims' children always leave food on their plates? Well, this new feature introduced in Seasons allows your Sims to store uneaten food in the refrigerator for later. The food never goes rotten, so it's a good thing to have for days when there's not enough time to cook.

The Seasons

The Sims 2 Seasons expansion pack gives your Sims the opportunity to bring seasons into their everyday lives. Choose the seasons for your neighbourhood by clicking the flowered button in the top left corner of the neighborhood screen. This brings up the Season Chooser, which displays a four-part circle. Each section of the four-part circle represents a quadrant [5 days] of the seasonal year [20 days]. The upper left quadrant is the first season, the top right is the second, bottom right is the third and bottom left is the final.

To change the seasons on the Season Changer panel, simply click on the section you’d like to change, then select one of the four seasons.

Note: The Season Changer has no effect on any sub-neighborhoods.

Each lot starts in the first quadrant of the Season Changer, no matter what the season is, but since lots run on different times, you can view the current season of a lot by hovering on it. One of four icons will appear next to the family’s name to show the season the house is currently experiencing.

While playing on a lot, you can view the current, future, and past seasons via the Season Indicator, displayed above the Mode changing buttons on the left side of the screen.
