[edit] The Pet's Needs

Each pet only has six needs, these being health, social, hunger, hygiene, energy, and appearance. You will use tools to unlock these needs to show you what is exactly wrong with the pet and what their current needs are at the time of treating the patient’s pet.

[edit] Health

To see the current health of a pet you will need to use the Stethoscope tool. Click on this tool and hold it above the pets head to get a reading. But make sure to keep the tool on the head of the pet, even if they move around, pets tend to scrawl about as they do not like being treated with the Stethoscope. Keep the tool on the head of the patient until you hear a “ding” sound showing that you have gotten a reading and unlocked their health need. Above you will now notice five stars beside the place of the health need. The yellow stars show how full their need is and the red shows how empty it is.

To get a pet’s health meter up you will need to pay attention to what is exactly wrong with them, whether or not they have the flu, worms, a broken limb, fleas, or anything else. When noticing what the patient is diagnosed with you will need to cure them of what is wrong with them for their health to rise back to normal, meaning five yellow stars. The health of the pet will not rise automatically after being cured but within a day or two, you will notice it gradually rise as you check them in the mornings.

[edit] Social

To see the current social of a pet all you have to do is click on the hand tool and begin rubbing their fur. After a few seconds of doing this you will hear a “ding” and then above you will now notice five stars beside the place of the social need. The yellow stars show how full their need is and the red shows how empty it is. There isn’t much effort needed to be put into this particular pet need, simply, to raise it all you need to do is continue rubbing the pets fur until you notice the five star meter rising by half stars.

This need usually isn’t the cause of any type of problem a pet could have. In most cases you would really only want to raise this pet’s need to gain a bonus for putting a patient’s pet in a good mood when successfully treating them. Besides this, just taking a little time to raise the pet’s social need could definitely effect the status of your reputation along with the bonus amount of money you could make after treating the pet.

[edit] Hunger/Energy

To see the current hunger and energy of a pet you will need to feed them with any type of generic pet food that you have bought from one of the stores. But you must make sure your have bought the right type of food for the pet you are treating, such as if you would need to buy dog food to treat on dogs while you would need to buy cat food to treat on cats. If you have not done this, when going to feed a cat or dog, the type of food you were suppose to buy will not appear in the pet food menu thus not allowing you to feed them during that current diagnosis. If this ever happens you can still diagnose the pet‘s needs, except for their hunger and energy at that time, what you must then do is buy the appropriate pet food and then later use the pet on the examination table to diagnose their hunger and energy need. Having a pet eat food will always unlock the current status of both a pet’s hunger and energy, even though this does seem odd. After a few seconds of the pet eating the food you gave them you will hear a “ding” and then above you will now notice five stars beside the place of the hunger and energy needs. The yellow stars show how full their need is and the red shows how empty it is.

To raise the hunger need of a pet you will need to make sure to feed the pet often when they seem hungry. A pet can seem hungry when you will notice a red half star or red whole star next to their yellow meter. When seeing this simply click on the examination table or grooming table and then you can click one of the options that appear to feed them. Give a pet as much food as possible to completely fill their hunger need from how ever many red stars it had to five complete yellow stars. When doing this you will definitely help to raise the mood of the pet, along with it’s health.

To raise the energy of a pet, all you really need to do is let them sleep inside the Kennel. When they are left to sleep a pet’s energy meter usually goes up, most times, in the morning when you check on a pet their energy meter will be full of five yellow stars. This is only if the pet hadn’t been trained or played with the day before. If they were, then it could take one or two days before their energy is again full.

[edit] Hygiene

To see the hygiene of a pet you will need to use the comb tool and brush the fur of that pet. When brushing the fur of a pet, cat or dog, ether way it is best you make long strokes using the stylus across the body of the pet, preferably north and south, until you hear a “ding” alerting you that you have unlocked the hygiene of that pet. When actually brushing a pet you will notice five red stars and then they will increasingly fill with yellow as you brush, keep an eye on this meter to see how far away you are from unlocking the hygiene of that pet.

There are two main ways to raising the hygiene meter of a pet. You could ether, most commonly, use shampoo to wash the pet, or simply just brush them at the grooming table. To wash a pet all you have to do is pick the appropriate shampoo for that pet, ether cat or dog shampoo, and then firstly wash the pet down, then apply the shampoo, rinse the shampoo, and then use a blow-drier to dry the pet so that they do not catch a cold from being wet. This type of way to raise a pet’s hygiene is quite time consuming and overall, not as good as simply brushing the pet.

To brush the pet using the comb you will need to take the pet to the grooming table. Then use the comb almost like you used to unlock the hygiene meter of the pet by brushing, north and south along the body of the pet, depending on which direction the pet is sitting, if they were to be horizontal then you would brush east and west, while keeping an eye on the star meter that appears, showing you how close you are to raising the hygiene of the pet. This time, instead of a meter appearing such as it did with combing the pet to unlock it’s hygiene need the meter you will be using to see the status of your brushing will actually be the hygiene meter of the pet and it will continue to rise as you brush the pet, north and south ways.

Note: When brushing or washing a pet they will become irritated and their overall mood meter will fall so make sure to use the hand tool to rub their fur later to raise this meter back to the way it was before.

[edit] Appearance

The appearance need of a pet is the only need you will ever actually see from the beginning of the treatment process. When treating a pet, the appearance will already be showing, so there is no need to actually try and unlock it. There actually isn’t any real way to unlocking this need but most times, if it wasn’t already unlocked, it can be by brushing the fur of a pet since overall the fur is also the appearance of a pet. If you do this you will hear a “ding” and then above you will now notice five stars beside the place of the appearance need. The yellow stars show how full their need is and the red shows how empty it is.

To raise the appearance of a pet all you need to do is take them to the grooming table and put any type of top, bottom, collar, or miscellaneous item on them that could make them look better. There are many types of collars, hats, clothes, and such that you can buy from a store to put onto a pet. Use these many items to raise the appearance of a pet. The appearance is usually a big thing to most patients, they always like to see their pets looking nice as can be. Treating the hygiene and health of a pet can also effect their appearance, so when wanting to raise this need make sure the pet is clean and healthy as can be.
