Character Creation

There are many steps to creating a sim and/or family. First of all you get to choose your sims name, gender, their skin color, age, head, body, personality, and family bio. All of these steps must be taken to successfully create your sim or sim family.

Step One - Name

The first step to creating your sim would be to name it. Every sim needs a name. Names add to how unique, creative, and cool a sim is. A sim with a name is always better than one without. When making up names for a sim think up something creative because this will be their name forever. When creating a sim family, you are required to make a last name and first name for that sim. Last names will separate sim families into their own, so that other family do not get mixed up with them.

Step Two - Gender

The second step to creating a sim is choosing it’s gender. In each sim game there is a choice of your sim being a male or female. So simply, if you want your character to be a male you would click on the male gender option while if you wanted your character to be a female you would click the female gender option.

Step Three - Skin Color

The third step to creating a sim is choosing your sim’s skin color. There are three choices to choose from, a light skin tone, a tan skin tone, and a dark skin tone. The light skin tone would usually be chosen if you wanted your sim to look Caucasian, the tan would be used to make your sim look Mexican or Asian, and the dark skin would be used to make your sim look African-American.

Step Four - Age

The fourth step to creating a sim is choosing what age it is. There are only two stages of age to choose from for your sim to be. These chooses are, ether an adult or child. And if your only going to have a household consisting of one sim, the sim must be an adult. If the household would have more than one sim, the adult would be the parent and then that would enable you to put another sim’s age as a child. There is another stage of age that you can see while playing the Sims game but when making a sim you cannot let it start out at this age, this age is the baby stage. When one of your sims has a child, the child starts out as a baby and then moves to the child stage and so on. Adults also have an advantage over children, they can get a job while children can’t. So when making your sim put this into consideration.

Step Five - Head

The fifth step of creating a sim is choosing what it will look like. There are two different ways to changing what your sim looks like, these being their head and body. There are many different types of heads to choose from, for ether a female or male sim character. Each head looks different and unique in it’s own way. Look through the many different heads to pick one that will make your sim look like what you wish it to. The many selections of heads for your sim are just another great feature to help you out while creating your sim.

Step Six - Body

The sixth step of creating a sim is choosing the other portion of what it will look like, this being it’s body. Just like with the head selection of the character creation the body has many different types. These many types of body include formal wear, everyday wear, and costume bodies. There is a wide variety of bodies to select and choose for your sim. The body is an important feature to use while creating your sim.

Step Seven - Personality

The seventh step of creating a sim is choosing the sim’s personality. There are six different categories that play a part in the personality of your sim. These include: Neat, Outgoing, Active, Playful, and Nice. The amount of points you give to each category determines which of part your sim’s personality will be like.

Neat: The more points you give to this category the more likely your sim will be neat. They will be more attentive when doing common household things such as flushing the toilet, putting books back after reading, throwing food away after eating it, etc. The less points you give to this category will make your sim more messy. They will tend to do the opposite of flushing the toilet, putting books back, throwing food away, etc.

Outgoing: The more points you give to this category the more likely your sim is to be interactive and outgoing to other sims. Sims with a lot of outgoing points are always very social and are good at making friends. This is the opposite for sims who are more shy than outgoing, and this can happen when they don’t have many points in this category.

Active: The more points you give to this category the more active and healthy your sim will be. Sims with more active points than others usually enjoy exercising more and staying in fit shape. They also tend to have high body skills. Sims with less points in the active category are more lazy and like to just sit around and not exercise.

Playful: The more points you give to this category the more playful and funny a sim will be. They tend to laugh a lot and enjoy other sims jokes. Sims with high playful points also are easy to get a long with and are just carefree, taking life one step at a time. While, sims with less playful points tend to be very serious about things. They not only aren’t too friendly with jokes and all but they also take their life, their job, and other things very seriously.

Nice: The more points you give to this category the more nice and friendly a sim will be. Sims with high points to their nice category are always very friendly and overall just nice to other sims. Other sims really enjoy talking to these type of sims. But sims with low points in the nice category tend to be mean and not so friendly to other sims.

Step Eight - Family Bio

When making a sim family there is always an option of making a family biography for that sim(s) you are creating. Use this feature to describe the family, it’s history, and any other things about it. The Family Biography feature of creating a sim is optional and does not need to be filled out in order to actually create a sim family. The sim family may only consist of one sim and that sim is still considered a sim family thus making the bio available for all numbers of sim creation.
